I am thinking of leaving Sky becase there are problems with the service in our home that I just cannot resolve. I can watch Netflix and BBC iPlayer on Amazon Fire Stick no problem. My son can use the X box to play multiplayer games: everything seems fine and rapid. Most websites load quickly and easily on my laptop. However, if I try to access certain things on my phone it is so slow that I am better off moving to my data instead. This can be all sorts of things: Apps, Websites, Searching on Google etc. I really do not know what the problem is. When I check it says that I have superfast broadband and everything is good, yet the actual experience in the house is not. It has nothing to do with how close we are to the router. This can also happen on our iMac and sometimes on our laptops. Sometimes the only way to get something to load on my laptop is to tether to my mobile and use data. Any ideas?

Hey.
sorry I can't help, but I have the exact same issue! It has happened both times I have been with Sky. For us it's 2 IPhones and 1 HP laptop, nothing will load, always using data/hotspotting.
I moved to Virgin and it never happened since. The only solution I had is to leave Sky broadband.
I spoke to an advisor who said to reset the hub to be put on another channel, as sometimes they are busy but within a few hours it is happening again.
She also mentioned that Apple had changed something through a software update apparently which has affected WiFi but I didn't get any further information to resolve this.
Hoping someone can help us both!

@AndyPalace @Tessa2 If you log into your sky account, check the setting of the Broadband shield, if required set to off and see if that helps the response. May take a few hours so not instant. You can always turn it to your required setting later.

Hey.
thank you, I tried this the other day and it worked for a couple of hours but then went back to the same sadly.

@Tessa2 Did the advisor from sky turn the setting off, or did you do it yourself? It can take a few hours to filter and work, but do not understand why it would in your case be good, then return to an issue.
I would take a look if you can in your account setting again. Have known of issue's but when sky turn it off then it certainly stays that way.

I will give this a try and let you know. Are there any downsides to turning off the shield? Sounds like the sort of thing that we would normally want in place...?!

Sorry for such a delayed response.
I ended up checking the app and have turned the shield off.
However broadband still very hit and miss.
Like now for example I am 'connected' to WiFi but it only shows 2 bars / 4G and will not load anything until I turn off the WiFi.
