Would depend if that modem has come preconfigured for bridge mode or not. You could try it and see if it works. If it doesnt then you'll need to log into the Openreach modem and see what the setup looks like. In terms of G.Fast my knowledge only goes as far as the Draytek Vigor Series

@jamesn123 a I thought that the modem would just plug in and supply the internet to the router with it being open reach and gfast. I thought the w9970 tplink was gfast too? I will return it.

Thought so. I think best setup would be using the DrayTek Vigor 2866.

Regarding the Openreach modem, if it isnt already configured for G.Fast bridging then it wont be as simple as plug in and it working but like I said before its worth testing first to see if it does work. Just go onto the Asus router, select WAN as Automatic IP and fill in the DHCP Option 61 field.

The MT-992 G.fast modem is plug and play and you just need to DHCP Option 61 the Asus with automatic IP on the WAN, setting up the DHCP Option 61 parameters. And of course, it is in a bridge being a G,fast modem only.
