Buying Sky Broadband, terminating Virgin Media fibre contract

Has anyone successfully started a new Sky Broadband and terminated a Virgin Media contract on the same day? Does Sky terminate my Virgin Media fibre contact? Or do I need to terminate Virgin myself? If myself, what is best way for me to align dates so that I pay for Sky broadband on last day of Virgin Media contract? Thanks

@mozzab Just let sky do the OTS service and they take care off it all for you! Once sky inform VM you should in theory get an e-mail/text etc from VM notifying you of the fact that Sky are going to be taking over! From time to time it can go wrong so there is no 100% that it goes a smooth as you wish, so keep the eye on it!

Payment side you need to forget about that, VM may have a refund for you, sky payment start's the day you go live, and payment is taken 6-7 day's after that, if there is an overlap that is JUST unavoidable, so you may end up paying sky and VM with VM refunding the OVERPAYMENT at a later date! Computer generated once it raises the bill it's on the way and nothing is stopping it!!!

@mozzab

You could use the switching service:

The only issue you might have is getting an activation date n the same day you finish with Virgin.
