Broadband turning off

Firstly nothing has changed in our property. Our broadband is suddenly half speed, wifiand internet is intermittent . Tried all the resets. Spoke to a sky person who suggested some paths we should try. Still the same. Don't know what to do now. Anyone else have these issues?

Re: Broadband turning off

@Jasonbooth70 Normally a power off/on leave for 5 minutes between can redirect the wireless wi-fi if it is seeing others but not always the 100% guarantee that it does, can you say what is going on, the service checker if working correct sky end, will let you see what is going on delivery to the hub with 30 day's off history, broadband and the > to expand and see and that is if you are using a sky supplied Hub, take a look there. Linked below so you can get to it!

The heading you have on the post does make it a little confusing so going with your main posted text!

Re: Broadband turning off

@Gilmorton+farm You may be a completely different issue from the OP, have a look at the hub lights.

This link below provides information about the coloured lights on the various hubs that can help to see what is going on!

Re: Broadband turning off

It takes a good few minutes for the router to fully boot. sounds like you have the black router (SR203) the power light will be red for a few seconds, it takes a good couple of minutes for the WiFi light to come on, after which the Internet light will be orange and then green. The Phone light will eventually go green when there is a valid telephone profile in the router, which is downloaded as part of its set up.

If the Internet light does not come on at all, check that the router is correctly connected to the phone socket, using the purple plug on the back of the router, if on ADSL, or for full fibre, the ethernet cable from your ONT is connected to the WAN socket on the back of the router (Port 4 - rightmost one if you're looking at the back) if plugged into any other socket it won't work. The ONT also needs power and should have Power, PON & LAN green lights should be on. Anything else indicates a problem. Note that plugging the ethernet cable into the wrong port on router will cause the LAN light to be green, but it won't work!

I remember the Internet starting!

Sky Full Fibre & Virgin Media XGS-PON, with automatic failover using DrayTek multi WAN router.
Sky Q, which will be sadly missed when they decide to kill it off!
