Broadband speed

My broadband speed seems very poor & contantly dropping, Sky checker tells me everthing is fine with 37 mbps however Google Fiber comes up with 5.9 , Fast.com come up with 5.6, can I assume Sky is lying to us ??

@elainesarahn You can assume anything but it doesn't mean you are correct.

The test Sky use shows your line access speed(the speed at which your router connects to the cabinet/exchange) and that will always be different to indepent speed tests which show your throughput.

I can find the stats but see no way of copying the text without it telling me of a false  HTML or something, sorry I'm no techie.

Is there a particular figure you need to see?

Ideally we need to see the whole table

If you can take a screen shot of the stats then click the reply button then above where you type your reply you should see what looks like a photograph frame .  Click that and locate the image and that should post the stats

What speed should you get?

The stats show 39Mbps but noise margin of 13db seem quite high

Regarding the various speed tests they are not 100% reliable especially using wifi.  Can you run a speed test using an ethernet device connected to the hub.

@elainesarahn Your router stats show you are connected at 39999kbps down(39mbps) and 9480kbps up(9mbps).

They also show you are only using wireless connections and that will probably be the cause of the slower throughput speeds, it may be worth trying changing your wireless channel to see if it helps https://helpforum.sky.com/t5/Broadband-Talk/How-to-change-your-Sky-wireless-channel/ba-p/2687733

Further to @daveNOS the 5Mbps showing on the wan mer rx bits per second is coming from the 2.4ghz wifi which is erratic and prone to interference..  if you are streaming its best to use ethernet or seperate the wifi and allocate that device to the 5ghz band

To seperate the wifi bands so you have ssids for both wifi bands and make sure you choose the 5ghz frequency for you faster devices
