Broadband keeps going off

I recently had to change my cabling to the router on the advice of Sky . Was told it was to allow phone calls from my landline over the internet. So made the changes and seemed to work. However , I'm now having regular episodes of power loss in the house . This happens a number of times every day and only has occurred since I made the cable changes to the router . It seems strange

To receive calls over the internet all you should have needed to do was to plug your phone connection into the back of the broadband hub so is this was you did ?
