Broadband cutting out
For days my broadband has been cutting out for 5-10 minutes at random times in the day. I have an engineer coming out this week but the app says everything is fine with my broadband so why could this be happening??

Re: Broadband cutting out
@SC2201 there have been numerous similar reports llargely caused by the huge amount of rainrecdntly. Assuming you get your broadband over a copper phone line as opposed to full fibre to your home the signal is easily disrupted by bad weather especially heavy rain and even this weekend by the exceptional solar storm which caused the aurora. Add in lines can be decades old and joints can become bad sometimes it is a wonder the system works as well as it does. The Openreach engineer carries test equipment to see what is going on and fix it if that is possible.
However where the fault is intermittent it can be impossible to trace it unless it is present when thry are testing. The longterm solution is full fibre but thst can be years away and is not 100% immune from issues.
