Broadband connection

1. Amplifier & Connection Issues

I’m using a Broadband service via BT, but I’m getting this much speed 60mps from my room since my house is two floor, and the connection often gets disconnected. What can I do to improve my internet stability and speed?

2. Sky Sports

I want to watch Sky Sports. (I placed an order TV recently) What options are available for subscribing or accessing it through my TV and setup?

Thank you.

@Jalynne

I am really confused on your question. If you have BT broadband I am not sure why you are asking about your internet stability & speed on the Sky Broadband forum?

If you want to watch Sky Sports you need to subscribe to either some form of Sky TV service or purchase it through your TV provider like BT or Virgin. What TV order did you place recently?

Re: Broadband connection

Sorry for making any confusion. I was not enough knowledge about this since I am new in this country.

My friend told me I am using sky braodband service not BT.

Openreach staff came and installed few months back.

I purchased a Samsung TV from John Lewis, and after looking online, it seems like I need to get Sky Q to watch Sky Sports. How do I set it up?

Please let me know the simplest and most affordable way to get it ready so I can watch sports as soon as the TV arrives.

Thank you.

Sky Q or Sky Stream can be purchased from the Sky Shop. Pricing is variable so you'd be best making your own quote.

Re: Broadband connection

Thank you so much for your answer. Thanks to you, I was able to resolve the issue.

But by any chance, how could I handle this broadband situation?

The one I’m using is 150, so when measured right in front of it, it shows 150, 120 in the living room, and 60 upstairs. It’s not just the speed; sometimes it fails to connect to Wi-Fi, switches to data mode, or disconnects during operation. Is there a way to improve stability or something else?

Thank you.

@jalynne1

The speeds you are quoting are about right, you would expect the speed to drop the further you get away from the router.

As for stability if the connection is dropping out you may need a booster. Sky can provide this if you have the broadband boost or Sky max addon subscriptions. You can check this by looking at your My Sky account in the app or on your bill.
