Broadband booster Issues

I have recently recieved a new router from Sky when reporting an issue with service signal being dropping and reconnecting. This fixed the issue. However I had made a point of stating to my housemate that there is a large drop off in signal strength to the back of the house. At least 40%. Sky recommended to her the Sky booster as we are Sky Max and it supports in every room.

With the router I can detect 100% wifi signal from about 2 foot away with 3 green lights on the booster setup at the half way point between the router and the back room I have 60% signal strength. I was expecting that the wifi signal would be 90-100% at the same 2 foot raidus as the broadband router? the back room is still remaining at the 40% wifi signal strength. I have checked any envromental obstructions and carried out the reset and reconnection via the WPS connection setup. I can see from the broadband router config page that it is on the list of connected devices.

Any advice?

@ScottUK what colour hub do you have? If it is the white type issued for WiFi max the older Sky boosters dont work you need the dedicated pods which look like a plug and show no lights.

Re: Broadband booster Issues

Your post is a little confusing, do you have the white SR213 router or the black SR203?

The booster for the SR213 is called Pod & doesn't have three LEDs, just one. If you're trying to connect one of the older SE210 boosters to the new SR213 Hub, I don't believe you can..

Re: Broadband booster Issues

sorry for the confusion, spoke to the housemate who corrected me on she bought the superfast package not the Sky Max.

Booster is white and is the SE210 looking model.

The sky broadband router is the SR203 in black.

Re: Broadband booster Issues

Has the booster been paired to the new router? Need to hold the booster reset with a paperclip until the LEDs reset, then use the WPS button on both devices to pair.

Re: Broadband booster Issues

Yes both have paired, Ive done this several times. I have logged into the router via the 192.186.0.1 address and have seen the broadband booster is connected as a listed device connected to the wifi. 3 green lights that would confirm its connected.
