Broadband activation yesterday didn’t work

Sky broadband was supposed to be activated yesterday, received texts from openreach engineer to say this had been done but internet and voice lights are off. Engineer booked for Monday but this ideally would be sooner as today is Thursday and the telephone is disconnected and mobile phone reception in my house doesn't work most of the time. I am 85 and live alone so being disconnected is worrying. 

 

Please does anyone have any advice on what may be causing this issue? Thank you.

@Isobel8 it is unlikely anything can becdone until,the engineer has checked the line. Where an activation fails something tgatvshould havecworked hasn't so thecfirst job is finding the fault. I am escalating your post to the Sky team who support the forum who should be in touch soon to offer you a private chat session to see if they can get your line checked as a priority due tomyour vulnerability.. Keep an eye on the forum as if you miss the message just click the chat icon which will be added to the forum pages for you to use.saving a long phone call.
