Broadband Router connection

Why is it that everyone my router drips out, the connection light remains white as if it is connected, then if I reboot it goes orange. What is the point of the light if it tells you it is connected when it isn't? Why does it keep dropping out?

@Stephen208 the light shows the connection of the hub to the line but wont always pick up the connection has dropped unless there is traffic. Clearly you need to discover why the line is dropping so firstly check the cables in your home. If they are secure and the service checker in the My Sky app does not offercany help call Sky. 

If you have a black Sky hub post its connnection stats but ensure you have not restarted the hub for some hours so there is data forum members can use to see if they can see the issue Sky Hub statistics
