PSA for prospective customers/existing Sky customers seeking an upgrade.
Please do your own research on Sky packages you are interested in before placing an order. I moved from BT to Sky Broadband this week. I live in an area where internet connectivity isn't great and needed wifi boosters to get decent coverage at home. I explained this to the Sales Rep I spoke to a couple of weeks ago and was assured I would recieve them free of charge (minus postage) - see screen grab below. I was advised I would need to call the tech team to order these once my broadband was activated
Activation was today, as expected I was not getting coverage in certain parts of the house, I called Sky tech to request a couple of boosters and was advised that under my package I am not eligible for free boosters and would need to take out a subscription to recieve them at an additional cost which was not explained to me by the Sales Rep. The tech team themselves were not overly complementary of the sales team and said its a typical sales tactic ie promise the world.
I am now in a position where if I want full coverage in my house I will need to pay Sky for an additional subscription to recieve the boosters.

Unfortunately that's true for all Sky Broadband customers.
Sky loans wireless booster hardware free under the terms of the 'WiFi Guarantee' element of 'Broadband Boost' and the 'Enhanced Wall to Wall WiFi Guarantee' part of the 'WiFi Max' subscription supplement: they don't otherwise provide or sell them except to resolve issues with Sky Q. Phoning Sky to go through a telephone diagnosis is required to have a booster or pod allocated to the account. Inevitably some have leaked onto a certain auction site, but Sky won't offer support with using these.
Confusingly the 'Wall to Wall WiFi Guarantee' doesn't actually provide booster hardware, and is essentially a sales lead generator for the supplements mentioned above.
