@DW1999 Sky only send out engineers to customers who buy their WiFi Max add-on and are having issues with devices in their homes and where a single extender pod is not sufficent. External security cameras are often difficult to connect as they are the wrong side of external walls and are not therefore in the home..
First question is the extender from Sky or a third party manufacturer? The newer white Sky hubs often have issues with extenders as they use a wider range of 5GHz WiFi channels than many extenders cannot use. One work round is to use an ethernet feed to a simple 2.4GHz WiFi access point placed near a window overlooking the cameras. Where running Ethernetvis impractical using a powerline adapter kit which uses the mains wiring to carry the signal is a sensible allternative as these can be bought with the access point included.
