The issue is with Sky. You would think they should respond by now... I did what @deniz suggested (thank you!) and my HomePod is working again. I spent £30 on a WiFi extender, set it up and only connected my iPhone and HomePod to it. I'll keep it like this until Sky fixes the problem.

@Disco8 you can now connect your iphone back to the main router,
homepods will stay on extender.
so you can use the faster internet on your iphone with the main router mate!
this wont effect pods. They will still work with no issue.

I assume my firmware updated today as I have had the same problem - can connect my HomePod to another network, but not the wifi. An hour and a half on the phone to Sky going round in circles - complaint raised, but don't know if this will do anything! Glad I found this thread but can't do any of the router changes, as every time I try to make a change I lose connection to the server. Sky rep basically told me I needed to be patient and wait for the next firmware update. I use my HomePod more that I use my Glass so annoyed is an understatement. Have others had success with the extender? Might need to bite the bullet, though not too pleased about having to spend money to fix a problem that shouldn't need fixing!

Followed @deniz comment by tweaking the router settings and I'm good now... for a few hours anyway. Let's hope nothing else has broke!

sadly it fails in few days.
best solution is get a wifi extender and connect the pods to that.

Just tried the settings @deniz mentioned (2.4 and 5Ghz configuration) and it works for me ! My HomePod Mini stereo pair is back online. In my case, instead of removing them from the Home app, I factory reset them.

Extender arrived today - £9.50 from Amazon - and it worked!!!! HomePod back online 🥳🥳🥳🥳

I cant believe this has been ongoing for months. We have just started our contract with Sky, and I am disappointed. We have an extra wifi extender here so will try that. I hope it will work.
Has anyone used this reason to terminate the contract with Sky?

I have know able to connect my Homepod Mini with a wifi extender. It is working okay and have connected it smoothly!

Has this issue been resolved? I already have other Apple devices, a HomePod and HomePod mini. I have a brand new hompod mini which can't connect to wifi. Before coming acros this thread, I contacted Apple who went through every trouble-shooting scenario before sending me a replaement. Still unable to connect to wifi.

My HomePods stopped working in November - Apple couldn't help & John Lewis sent it away for repair and ended up
replacing one , which still didn't work.
I found this thread and followed the advise to get a WiFi extender- which works but isn't ideal.
i wonder how many people actually are struggling with this problem ? It's shocking that we're almost in March and it still isn't fixed

Buying a Wi-fi extender worked for me. Not because it was out of range but because there's a setting in the Sky router stopping the HomePod which the extender circumvents.
