Anyone had fibre installed recently ?

All - I am shortly going to be moving from current superfast to Fibre and are pending OpenReach vist to install the external box/ONT.   For anyone that has had fibre installed recently, are they still using the Nokia or Huawei ONTs where dimensions are:- 82mmx89mm / 82mmx90mm, and can I confirm that you only had the ONT installed and not the mounting box that is able to hold a length of cable  as well ?

Thanks, just want to check as I have some specific internal challenges with regards to fitted furniture and installation of the ONT box, which I may have to work around if something else is going to be used.

For a typical UK installation there's no internal cable spool: that's located at the external CSP enclosure.  The fibre pigtail between CSP and ONT is cut to length before fusion splicing.

I believe the internal cable spool may be more of a feature of full fibre installations in the Republic of Ireland.

@LGW100 the exact model of the ONT does vary according to what stock the engineer draws it from. The external box is a standard part of the installation as explained here https://www.openreach.com/help-and-support/full-fibre-broadband-installation-checklist#accordion-b43...

@LGW100

One slight variation: in some MDU full fibre installations there can be an internal CSP which is typically a rectangular white enclosure.  This protects the fusion splice point where that can't be outside the individual dwelling unit.

Re: Anyone had fibre installed recently ?

Thanks, so worse case scenario, will be an ONT similar to the sizes in original question and then CSP which looks to be about 12 cm x3 cm ( approx)

Thanks.

Had a recent install of full-fibre in October and this is the box and dimensions of it.
