Universal credits help

Hello my name is Laura Mann and I'm with virgin media now I'm paying £85 just for Internet sadly my husband left me after 20 years in January and I'm coming to the end of contracts which I can get out of now and I heard that sky helps you with universal credits and is much cheaper.

we are a gaming family LOL so we need good Wi-Fi. I live in a flat so I need good Wi-Fi through the flat.

, I'm interested to know about your entertainment package ?
right this second I pay for NOW TV Netflix Disney prime through the Xbox.
Plus my ex is going to stop my phone contract in December so I will need a new phone contract as well. I just wanted a bit of advice and help and the cheapest way as I have two disabled children if you could get back to me that would be amazing, many thanks, Laura Mann

@LauraMann
Universal Credit only applies to Broadband and not TV subscriptions. Unfortunately it's only available to customers who already have Sky Broadband. This link explains the process if you’re eligible for Sky Broadband Basics.
https://www.sky.com/help/articles/sky-social-tariff

The Sky account holder
needs to be claiming Universal Credit, Pension Credit, Income Support, Income based Jobseekers Allowance or Income based Employment Support Allowance. These are the only qualifying benefits and in order for Sky to carry out checks with DWP they will need your NI number. The social tariff is for Sky Broadband Superfast 35 with an average download speed of 36Mb/s and the Sky Talk Pay As You Go tariff (ie: all calls are chargeable). It does not offer a discounted Sky Talk plan.
Broadband Basics is only available to customers who already have Sky Broadband and to add the Sky Mobile offer, you’ll need to be taking Sky Broadband Basics, and:
a) Already have Sky Mobile and a 3GB data plan.
b) Or you can add a new 3GB data plan with Sky Mobile.

If you are eligible you’ll need to call Sky to join. There is no equivalent offer for TV. The social tariff now lasts for 24 months and then reverts to the full cost but if you’re still eligible you will then need to re-apply.

@LauraMann I believe the broadband package for those on a social tariff is Sky Broadband Superfast 35, with a maximum download speed of 35Mbps unless you have a separate fibre optic cable to your home, when it's 75Mbps.

@LauraMann

But as stated above it's only available to current Sky Broadband customers so if you're with Virgin Media I'm afraid you won't currently qualify.
