Am I being scammed

I received this text but is it a scam? Hi, it's Sky. Great news, (my name) Your home is now eligible for Full Fibre, the UK's most reliable broadband. As a Sky VIP, you can upgrade to Full Fibre 75 at no extra cost and with no change to your broadband contract. We've provisionally booked an engineer for 04/09/2025 AM at your home (postcode ending my postcode). You can reschedule if you need to, we'll share details on how to do this soon. If you have a care alarm, no mobile or poor mobile signal at your home, please DO NOT proceed as Full Fibre may not be suitable for you. Please note that prices may vary out of contract. By agreeing, you confirm you're the main account holder. To proceed, click "yes" To opt out from this service click "no" I have called sky and they know nothing and not to let anyone in but phone them on the 4/9/25 but they seem to say that I will need to upgrade by the end of this year? I am concerned and confused.

@tinylewis  The text is genuine, you can check if FTTP (Full Fibre) is available here https://www.broadbandchecker.btwholesale.com/#/ADSL/AddressHome

Like you I'm a customer here, Sky Employees are clearly identified as such.

Re: Am I being scammed

@tinylewis If sky have confirmed when you talked to them then it is a scam text/call, sky are aware and can check if you are called legit by there sales team, although it is a bit off a mess, scammers do jump on and try as hard as they can to get your required details!!!

Re: Am I being scammed

I have called sky and they are not aware of any engineers booked for my address by either sky or BT.

What's confusing is the sky customer service says I will have to upgrade by the end of year. But have been told not to reply to text and not let anyone in. Also reported to 7726

That's not correct.

The current target dates are the end of the commercial FTTP rollout in December 2026, and the switch-off of PSTN in January 2027.
