My router can't find my sonos play 3 speaker, so I can't add it to my network to control via my phone. I do not know what gigaherz my box is working on, which I believe makes a difference.

Sonos tend only to work on the 2.4ghz wifi band
To seperate the wifi into 2 seperate wifi:-

Also if using a mobile app to install the speakers make sure you assign to the newly created 2.4ghz frequency
