Adding Wi-Fi access point to ultrafast

We currently have sky ultrafast, 2 mini boxes, Sky Q and a landline.  Looking at adding a third party access point to improve Wi-Fi performance.

My thinking is

Connect AP to router

Create new Wi-Fi network on AP

Disable Wi-Fi on Sky Router

Connect all devices and sky q to access point.

leave landline as is.

my question is, what happens to the mini boxes, can these just connect to the q box as standard?

thanks

Yes the mini boxes will still connect via WPS to the main Sky Q box

Although it's perhaps worth noting that a main Q box is both older in design and a poorer shape for WiFi than a Sky Broadband Hub.
