Add a ringer amplifier to landline phone

Hi all,

I am trying to add a ringer amplifier to my mum's landline phone. She can never hear the phone ring, even on its loudest setting. She has the following setup:

Can someone please let me know where the ringer amplifier needs to be installed.

Many thanks in advance.

Mikkii

@Skyjohndavid

When the telephone handset is plugged into the internet router then I'd think the ringer should be between the router and the handset, but note that this will only work if the phone connection is coming from the BT jack socket on the router.

A 'real' VoIP phone plugged into an ethernet socket doesn't receive a ring current: it uses a software trigger from inbound data and so an analogue external ringer unit cannot function.

IP ringers do exist (primarily for office and factory use) but would be considerably more expensive and potentially much more complicated to configure.

@Skyjohndavid Completely agree with @TimmyBGood you really need to talk to your VOIP solution company and inform them you need to get something that they recommend to get the VOIP phone louder, the RHS off the broadband filter is a dead duck if you have NO sky supplied voice service and that would still require to be older VDSL service and sky supplied via OR!

Thanks to both of your replies. Just for a bit more information, it is a white Sky Max router and the phone is a Yealink W73P phone provided by Phonely.

@Skyjohndavid Still does not make one blind bit off difference who is the VOIP supplier that you have! Oops, just seen the Phonely tagged on the end off your reply, call them they must have been asked many times before cannot get the ring to be heard not loud enough for the mum to hear!!!!

There's no ring circuit over ethernet cable.
