Access to NHS Sites

Hi,

Is anyone having issues accessing the NHS app or any NHS website today?  I cannot get on to anything, and when I've spoken to my Practice they say there NHS IT service are saying there is a major issue with Sky Broadband accessing any NHS sites and they are advising everyone to phone Sky.

Can anyone help?

Ian

Hi all,

The NHS has implemented a fix on their end and we believe this should be fully resolved for our customers now. I'm very sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused you today.

Unable to remotely connect to nhs networks via sky broadband

NHS IT Dept tells me that there is a national issue affecting sky broadband customers who are unable to access nhs networks remotely potentially due to a 'dynamic DNS assignment'. They advised a hard reset if the router which did not resolve the issue. I can't see any mention of the national issue or when it may be resolved. Any advise please?

Re: Access to NHS Sites

Same issue here!

And others have the same issue on Reddit and they have Sky too:  https://www.reddit.com/r/nhs/comments/1uddr7s/comment/otawfng/

If I use mobile data that isn't Sky, I can access the site and app, but with Sky, I can't.

Clearly Sky are having issues, but not good if they don't seem to be acknowledging it.

Re: Access to NHS Sites

Great thank you.

I also went on Facebook and messaged them about it and they said they are aware of this thread, so hopefully they fix it seeing as the NHS is outright saying it is Sky and it is only Sky customers that are affected.

Fingers crossed!

I can't use the app and I need to check appointments before I go down, so hoping it is fixed soon.

TO SKY:

If any Sky staff read this:
There are posts on Reddit, X/Twitter and other sites about the same problem.

And the NHS it dept say that it is Sky that has the issue with the DNS.

Quite a few of us are affected, and many people won't know they are affected unless they try to use the NHS app or visit the NHS UK website (Please note it's the NHS UK website as not all NHS websites are affected)

The NHS app and NHS UK website work fine if I use O2 mobile data. Only happens on Sky BB.

Re: Access to NHS Sites

Have have just called SKY and spent the last 60 minutes trying to explain that just because they are doing a check on my wifi and its coming back as fine doesnt mean the VPN connection still doesnt have an issue! We have an email from NHS to say to call Sky but when I've called they have refused to look into any issue. Waste of time!!! Customer service for Sky is awful- they dont understand you or simply dont understand what they're doing in the first place.

Re: Access to NHS Sites

Clearly not when I have only just been told there's no issue and to reset my laptop and wouldn't help me any further!  I haven't been able to work all day.

@Becky+Clark

Well I can assure you they have although it may not have filtered through to every call centre agent yet. I reported it myself and Sky responded above.

It's worth adding that Sky broadband discussed here is a domestic service and whilst Sky are fine with its customers working from home using it for this purpose they won't receive additional or quicker support.

They most definitely are aware as not only did they comment on this thread, but I also spoke to them on Facebook messenger and they confirmed they are working on it.
