AOVPN Not Connecting

Hi,

I have seen a few posts on here with this issue but doesnt appear to be a fix as yet, or not one that I can see.  I have recently signed up to Sky and have the white Sky Max Hub.  I work for the NHS and since moving to Sky my laptop has been unable to connect to the VPN we use - AOVPN.  I work a hybrid model of in the office and at home but now can't work from home due to these issues.  If I tether my phone as a hotspot the VPN connects with no issues.

Any advice / solutions would be greatly received.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more

@DaBla27 there have been a number of issues with corporate VPNs with the new white hubs mainly caused by a system Sky are using to share IP4 addresses called MAP-T but you are the first NHS worker I have seen reporting an issue.

Some cases can be sorted by simply activating UPnP which switches the IP4 sgare from 8:1 to 1:1 this post explains how to do that UPnP set up

If that doesnt sort the issue please complete and submit this form thst goes tomthe team managing this issue https://forms.office.com/e/kk1gCkWsRb?origin=lprLink

Re: AOVPN Not Connecting

Thanks @Chrisee.  So I have enabled UPnP in the settings and can see the 8:1 ratio from the screen shot but what the link you have sent doesnt explain is how to change that from 8:1 to 1:1.  I can enable DMZ and set up Port Forwarding from the Sky App but what setting do I have to use when enabling any of these?  Port forwarding is asking me to specify a port or port range and similar with the DMZ but I'm not sure what to enter when prompted.

Re: AOVPN Not Connecting

Until yesterday, my connection was stable and functioning perfectly, but now I am completely unable to connect. Given that I am working in a hybrid model, I have had to rely on a mobile hotspot just to access my work, which has been both disruptive and impractical.

It is concerning that, in 2024, Sky has not managed to address this issue, which likely affects numerous NHS staff nationwide who depend on Always On VPN (AOVPN) also many other organizations for secure, consistent access to their work. If this is a systemic issue, it reflects a serious gap in support for those who rely on AOVPN and could have widespread consequences across the country.

I urge SKY to treat this matter as urgent and prioritize a resolution, as continued disruptions affect our ability to work effectively.
