900 Mbps (Don't think they have activated the down)

Hi,

I don't think they have activated my download speed. They have certainly updated the upload. According to the broadband help tool. I should be getting 900. But still stuck on around 490mbps.

Don't get me wrong the broadband runs really well. Infact I haven't got any complaints.

Many thanks, Paul

If that is over wifi then that is all you will get because that's what WiFi 5 tops out at. Sky don't have a WiFi 6 hub.

Try running the test with a computer connected to the hub with an ethernet cable and youn should see the higher speed.

Hi @1Disco

As already mentioned by @simon194 you wont get the full 900mbps over WiFi because Sky's hub only has WiFi 5 which is a technical limitation. You'll only get the full 900mbps over Ethernet.

The idea of Ultrafast 900 is to provide many devices at once with UHD streaming speeds, not for a single WiFi client to be able to use 900mbps at once.

If faster wifi speeds are required it's best to invest in a WiFi 6 access point but any devices also need to support WiFi 6 to make use of the extra speed.
