Hello all,
I have recemtly been in touch with Sky regarding regular drop outs / throttling around 23:00 on many evenings. Long story short, the conncetion was always 90% ok, but it was annoying. Then my speed dropped to around 90mbs (Ethernet) so I was wondering how it could be that they offer such a BIG speed but supply only 20% of it.
I received a new router yesterday which I set up (properly), which displayed 520mbs on the first few initial tests. It's 'fine' but it still only producing 90mbs on tests although Sky website obviously says it's 450mbs to the cabinet.
Any comments welcome...

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreWhen speedtests hover around 90mbps this is almost always because the ethernet cable in use or the device's chipset does not support Gigabit speeds. Make sure you are using a Cat5e or above ethernet cable, ensure your laptop/PC supports gigabit ethernet via its ethernet port & ensure that the port is set to Gigabit.
