I would have just bought the router variant without the DSL modem part and just ordered a separate modem, Vigor 130 as well.
The DSL part of an Asus is terrible.

Are you on FTTP or FTTC?

@mae-3 I know this is an old thread but such good information on it I thought I would try ask a question. I have just got Fiber to the home and went with Sky for my broadband switching from Imagine. Speeds are great but not happy with the restrictions on the Sky Router, I see it was recomended if replacing the SR203 to go with a TP linkArcher VR400 but is this still the case?. As I am new to Fiber and indeed Sky Broadband my aim is to have the best setup possible so would ask the comunity what they would recomend and am open to suggestion (I am based in Ireland). Thank you
Current Stats are below

The TP-Link Archer VR400 is an ADSL2+/VDSL router and is not compatible with your full-fibre installation.
With Ireland full-fibre you have a greater choice of ethernet wireless routers as Sky Ireland uses PPPoE for authentication which almost all ethernet wireless routers support.

Thats great, thank you. Would you have a recomendation as to what would be a good mid range router to choose?

If that was to work it would be via the samd dhcpv6 prefix delegation as the vr400
To check beforehand try this on the existing tp link
1. Connect the network cable from the FTTP wall box to port 4 (labelled LAN/WAN)
2. Login to the router and click advanced at the top.
3. Click Operating Mode and change to "Wireless Router Mode" press "Save"
4. Once ready, while on the "Advanced" setting again, go to "Network" -> "Internet"
5. You will see an empty table, click "Add" in the top right above said table
6. Change Internet Connection Type to "Dynamic IP"
7. Ensure IPv4 remains ticked.
8. Tick IPv6 (wont be selected at the moment)
9. Do not clone mac
10. Press Save
11. Wait, it can take a minute or two but should eventually show connected.
12. Enjoy a better wireless experience

Just checked on your first post . If you are in the Republic of Ireland any router should be able to replace the the sr203.
As @mae-3 has said Ireland uses pppoe so the dhcpv6 pd as i described probably won't work
Basically your:-
Username is anything@skydsl
And password anything
You would need to enable vlan id and set it to 10
And for MTU set to 1500 or accept default value of 1492

Great, thanks. Any recomendations as what Router model to use?

Yep. Your choice of wifi 6 tplink rt ax53 is more than capable of handling up to gigabit speeds
Also asus rt ax56u and asus rt ax58u
