2.4ghz / 5ghz locked down

Sadly my Sky Max router will not let me change the settings and split out 2.4ghz and 5ghz, why??? Causing me big problems as the router WiFi is flaky and keeps flipping between both bands, which means my devices then try to switch and effectively grinds things to a halt. Can't even unsyncranise, let me have full control of my router please Sorry Sky, if I'd have known about this gem before hand I would have never have gone with you!

@CustomerG

Your devices should not keep switching, this suggests there is an issue. Its possible you need a booster in that area to keep devices on the 5ghz band longer.

Exactly, signal is good and didn't have this issue on a previous old router from a competitor.

Smart tech isn't that I'm afraid, give me the option to change the settings & I'll be ok.

@CustomerG You want that option then you need to go back one revison off hub!

Re: 2.4ghz / 5ghz locked down

Sadly not, a booster would not help, this is all about the inability to split bands.

By all means though Sky, please feel free to send me one so we can disprove my theory.

As I say, never had this issue before on my old router with a competitor.

@CustomerG What you had before to what you have now is the way that it is, apples and oranges are just different. Sky will not be sending you anything, the community top off the page and About explains it all!

You may wish to also look to downgrade the WPA mode off that sky Max hub, you may just find that that helps a great deal!
