My sons iphone 8 started to screen freeze and is unable to do anything. We did the standard reboot and the factory reset. We then did the itunes reboot and update. it works for a few minutes and then screen does not accept any touch actions. We took it to an apple store and the tech team turned it on and it worked for a few mins. Get it home and its frozen. They wont do anything and bring it back and we will put a new screen etc at a cost. Cant get hold of sky to discuss.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreI think you have a few choices here, if you speak to Sky then the chances are they will want to send it off for repair or you could try taking it back to the Apple store because if there is a fault they will also want to send it of for a fix.

It's an outlier, but
how much free space is there on the phone and how much memory? The 8 should still be ok, but if it's almost full (over 80%) and your son spends many hours on the phone, then probably it down to not having enough free memory to keep running smooth.
The next time he reports the issue to you ask him to show you how many ope apps he has. Closing as many as he is not using may help considerably - or only a little ymmv.
