Sky+HD definitely beats SkyQ in a few areas imho; but now that the latest Q170 firmware update has cured most of the video and audio glitches which plagued me since switching to Q two years ago, I wouldn't go back.
However, I will never forgive Sky for dropping the Reminder function from Q; and I hate how recordings are organised with everyone else's rubbish cluttering up the place. And the lack of a Delete All option in the deleted recordings area is arrogant madness. Even when deleting recordings one by one, the default selection switches arbitrarily from 'Delete forever' to 'Undelete' so you have to watch it like a hawk.
The fact that Q Minis can't handle 4K is criminal short-sightedness. And I haven't yet found a button to advance the TV guide by 24 hours.
But apart from these crimes, SkyQ is now a very good platform delivering far more functionality than Sky+HD ever did. And if anyone needs them, I have a cupboard full of old Sky HD boxes.

Sky+HD is very old thecorginal platform dates from around 2001 and while it has been developed it simply will not cope with the services Sky want to offer. Sky have not had any boxes buit since 2015 as far as we know. They have been running on stock and refurbished units ever since. Open sale stopped in 2016 so simply it is date expired.
Getting used to Q will take a while as its like switching from Windows XP to Windows 10 but again users have no choice there. I suppose that now Glass is launched we will get similar posts wanting to revert to good old Sky Q - oh hang on we are already!😀

@Q-tips Hi. Thanks for that. I think I can help with the moving forward 24 hours. I used the fast forward button that is the same button for advancing a program that you might be watching. But I still find the whole Q experience to be not as good as the sky we originally had. Another person said they liked the voice thing, but I have yet to find this helpful. And the search feature that was on the original was much easier to use and to simply access. I am not a good tech person, but I don't think that should be a requirement to watch TV.

Thanks guys but doesn't FF merely scroll through every time slot? That's tedious if you want to get to 2 or 3 days ahead. It should have been easy to carry over the old coloured button 1-click advance.

It's hard for me to imagine anything easier than Q's voice search. It works perfectly for me, first time every time, even if I have a mouth full of popcorn I don't think it extends to the apps though.

Bingo! Thank you. I was getting my FF and Nav buttons mixed up. Delighted to cross this one off my hate list.

@Q-tips just add to this if you have advanced 2 o3 days if you press the play/pause button it takes you straight back to the current day and time 😀

So it does! Now programmed into my addled brain. I was getting confused because I usually do FF using the right nav button instead of the FF button.
