Re: Who's switching from Q to Stream?

Thanks for the info.

I also saw Netflix are upgrading the basic plan in November to "HD" (or 720p), so hopefully better than the current SD.

True they are but will still be limited to one screen just figured i would put out you aren't getting the Netflix Standard 1080p plan included.

Re: Who's switching from Q to Stream?

Friday

The (probably to be abandoned) England match is not in my playlist, despite it saying 'series added'. So I go to tv guide, unpress and press plus button and now it's in my playlist.

Am I doing something wrong or is it just carp?

You should be able to add to playlist from anywhere the system allows. I've found sometimes when adding it isn't there, come out and back in the Playlist and it is there.

In all honesty it is a bit hit n miss at the moment!

@Ed.B. series linking of sports events can be hit or miss so its wise to check as you did. Entertainment is more reliable but it relies on broadcssters adding the tight metadata which occasionally hits snags. Its thecsame with other Sky TV services.

I only pay for Sky to watch the sport, so this is a real problem for me. But I can't have satellite in my current flat, I can't have bt broadband which means I can't get their excellent tv box pro, and I refuse to get into a tv contract with Virgin.

If the match wasn't abandoned I'll, if it's something like you can't save the news on the bbc one and ITV for the for the news it's something to do with the licenses it cannot be done on stream according to a manager I spoke to last night

The broadcast is still in progress though, so it should be in my playlist for me to watch from the start. Even if it is just people talking about how wet it is...

@Ed.B. For the sake of your own sanity, I hope F1 isn't one of the Sports you're hoping to enjoy on Stream.

I'm not a huge F1 fan but will happily watch it if there's nothing else on.

Sounds like you're scarred for life

@Ed.B.

There's been a lot of issues with playlists and F1 either not fully recording because of over run or taking ages to be added to catch up where people have been nearly watching Race before qualifying was added to watch.

Re: Who's switching from Q to Stream?

Just rang Sky to get a price for Stream, they want to charge me £20 a month more, I pay £46 at the moment, which includes Sky Signature £14.50, Cinema £10 (18 month contract), Netflix £5, UHD £2 & £9 for Multiscreen plus broadband on £20.50

They want to charge me £59 for 3 Stream boxes, then a month would be:-

£26 Sky Signature

£12  Multinscreen

£8   Netflix

£11.  Sky Cinema (I'm already in an 18 month contract till June 23), won't let me cancel

£6  Dolby Atmos.

told them thanks but no thanks, £20 a month more it too much

Not me, I'm sticking with Sky+ HD for as long as possible. But I do follow this thread for my own amusement

@Steve93

Switching to Sky Stream would cancel any of your Sky Q contract but yeah if you aren't going to save money I wouldn't switch either as all you are going to get is the addition of UHD on the other puck boxes. You will also lose the Mesh WiFi Network.
