Re: Who's switching from Q to Stream?
I completely agree that launching an app rather than a box would be a better option.
The Sky Go app on the Apple TV works very well, it's slick and responsive.
If it offered HD/UHD and surround sound (and integration with Apple's 'Up Next' shelf) I'd gladly pay for it.
From what I can tell, Sky is trying to position itself as a content hub though, which might explain their resistance.

Absolutely, and they simply can't compete on price within the app-only streaming market sector where £5.99 - £12.99 pcm is what subscribers have come to expect, no matter how unrealistic that is for the range of services which Sky offers.
BT Halo 3+ Ultrafast FTTP (500Mbs), BT Smart Hub 2

When I tried it this morning you have to press up or right on the direction pad I think it was, to get the play/pause/fast forward/rewind icons on-screen. Then navigate right to the fast forward icon and select it to start forwarding....
If ITV-X follows this UI model then there's going to be a lot of very annoyed people. It wouldn't surprise me in the least if they do as it'll drive more people to pay for the premium ITV-X ad-free subscription, which ultimately is all ITV want.

Re: Who's switching from Q to Stream?
ITV Hub is useless, there is no real clean option to skip ADS. As stated when Sky start charging £5 for AD free there's going to be riots lol.
Take a look you may be able to get an AD free trial on Hub or its £3.99 a month. I had a month free trial so signed up. There are no issues no ADS the programme plays start to finish like iplayer or Britbox. To be honest if you watch a lot of ITV it's worth £3.99 to save repetitive strain injury.

STV Player on the other hand, works fine!
Sky Stream since launch with Philips 55" Mini LED. Sky Glass Gen 2 55" now added.

True but not all programmes are available due to regional issues.

Re: Who's switching from Q to Stream?
There are restrictions on the service, I'm in Wales and some programmes are blocked.
This for main drama The Suspect
Anyway ITV subscribe ADS free at £3.99 it's worth it for stress free viewing 😉

Re: Who's switching from Q to Stream?
As we only switched yesterday I'm quite impressed so far But want to see how quick itv hub adds shows before paying for ad free option.
the inclusion of hd channels in the stream price is good - I'd say we are leaning towards keeping stream so far

Re: Who's switching from Q to Stream?
ITV add programmes almost instantly. If you sign up you should at least get a 7 day free trial. If you have the app on your iPhone or android you can sign in and sign up via their play stores. Provided you use the same login details as itv hub on sky and your app the subscription works. It's just subscribing via the app you can cancel the subscription so easily.
Up to you of course but 7 days free it's a no brainer I'd say.
