What is better - Fibre Max, Superfast or Ultrafast?

Even if the only difference is the change of name , the price and the speed guarantee.  At the end of the day isn't @Charlie+Clown  already occupying a vdsl slot.

@cookiemonsteruk that doesnt matter whether he has a "slot". The system treats it as a cancellation and new order just as if he was switching ISP which means if there is an order ahead in the queue the connection goes to thst customer. As I said its happened before hence the warning.

Unless its gone waiting list after he was given the choice of staying fibre max or changing to superfast sky shouldn't be offering something that would potentially leave customers without any broadband at all. Wouldn't sky pick up waiting list and say they can't offer "superfast" at the minute.  Surely they just can't cancel one brand name and say sorry its gone to someone else

@cookiemonsteruk They dont seem to going by other customers experiences. As I said its a risk not a certainty.

Waiting list is when the cabinet is full and people wanting to upgrade to superfast have to wait for someone to move to to virgin or cancel broadband altogether to get a slot. It would appear you would be terminating your connection that would go to someone higher up to be placed further down the list . Sounds shambolic but would be something that you'd to get 100%

@Charlie+Clown what happens is w hat in Openreach tebrms is a cease and re-provide if someone in ahead in the queue thsy get your old connection and you join the queue at the back. It is not certain but a risk.

It is a risk in the sense that it sounds like you have to cancel fibre max and commit to superfast in order to see if you can get broadband at all

To be honest i don't think they would know  Given the fact that you've already been offered the choice of superfast indicates the sales team may not have access to the status of the cabinet and would just do exactly the same and sign you up

. And if they don't have access to the fact  that the cabinet is full they'll hardly know the technicalities of whether you retain your slot or not.

I've no idea - presumably I'd just be calling the Sky upgrade number and as @cookiemonsteruk says, the operative probably won't know about such things. I didn't until a few hours ago!

If if it wasn't for @Chrisee input i would be still saying go for superfast.

Give sky a call and ask for re assurance that you won't lose your slot in the cabinet then get back to us
