Got glass in November and been fighting the good fight ever since, I really like the concept of Glass but it's just too unreliable for day to day use.
I have been in touch with Sky Tech for months now but alas nothing has changed. Today I finally arranged return of my Sky Glass. I am very disappointed as I liked the concept but the reboots, issues spoil the purpose of what a TV should provide.
It's a major inconvenience because I now have to get a new TV by Thursday as this was my main TV.
My advice to newcomers:
These forums are full of helpful posts that can assist you moving forward.
I appologise to those I have had my battles with during these months expecially @Chrisee was nothing personal, just frustrations with a product I had super high hopes for, that ended up disappointing.
Finally has anyone got any experience re: LG OLED55C2 I am looking to get one of these but have no clue where to go from now on or does anyone have any TV recommendations ?

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@techman9 if I was in the market for a new TV I would be looking at the C2 myself. My older C9 has been excellent. Not perfect of course nothing is but the C2 looks to give good performance at a sensible price using proven technology.
My experience with Glass has been very different but if I had the issues you had I would have been back onto Sky Q in days. You make very sensible points that Glass is not for everyone and Sky have not exactly excelled in the support for the new system.
I genuinly wish you the best of luck in getting a solution that suits your use case,.

@techman9 i would say if you want to save yourself a few bob, go for the C1, i saw both before picking, and tbh i couldn't tell the different ...apart from the ££££..lol
Also if you're lucky they have started putting in the newer evo screen into the C1, which is of the same family as the C2, so bit brighter and newer tech. but as said i couldn't tell the difference.
my advice, save the money and buy a decent sound bar to go with the C1, thats what ive done 🙂

- Do you research and read the forums, make sure Glass is what you expect it to be and be prepared to have some growing pains as the product develops.
- If you are unhappy tell Sky, the more people who express their issues with them might help with them eventually being resolved.

@techman9 you've done well to get a return & refund if you've had it since November.
The LG C2 is a good choice as its highly rated by the main reviewers, one example being :

A very wise decision. Any OLED TV will certainly show up the inadequacies of Glass.
I can highly recommend Richer Sounds as a place to buy one from. Next day delivery is often available, as well as free 6 year warranties.

@Chrisee Thank you the C2 does look the best fit.

@M3rkThanks I did look at that model too, It's between the 2 although I am steering more towards the C2 I just have to make up the difference between the glass refund and the C2 price. I won't be changing for many years to come so might as well push the boat out a bit!

@GD1Trust me I tried, I so wanted it to work, when it was launched it was perfect for my needs, but these constant issues finally finished me off. To be fair the Sky team I have been dealing with one person inparticular has been great.
You just have to sell your case be calm and polite and let them try and diagnose, they happily excepted it back in the end (in june they sent an email in writing) but I decided to give it to the next update to see if it fixed at least 1 or 2 issues, sadly my Netflix wooes continue so enough was enough.

@fizzdisco Thanks, really enjoyed your posts, keep on the good fight 🙂
I will keep a look out for the standalone pucks hopefully by the time they are released they will be a bit more stabler, I won't be jumping in the deep end this time though!

All OLED TVs will do this as they use a far superior display tech

@Suskha Ordered Today went for the C2 55" as I like the size of the glass I have.
My first dip into OLED so am looking forward to see the difference 🙂
