On another note, they cancelled my package immediately (which I wasn't expecting), so the TV has been in app mode (no sky) since yesterday, It actual feels more stable and quicker than before and funnily enough no issues at all last night very bizarre.

@Jporch316 no it's going back tommorow.

@techman9 Was same, wasn't expecting the service to stop straight away , I must admit though , was left with more than expected, after reading on here if you cancel you're left with a dumb TV , still had access to all my apps, all be it via a reduced menu screen though.
...but I would have bought my replacement earlier if I'd known that , we ended up with a couple of days gap, nothing that drastic.
One thing I've also done, in the interim , whilst I wait for the sky streaming puck to be released, is changed the LNB on my sky dish so the TV can receive freesat properly, if you leave the sky q one on there then it's not compatible. Takes 5 mins and is super easy to do .

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreThere was another post in here somewhere where a user had cancelled glass but kept the tv and sky sent them a new glass remote with direct app buttons. Wanted to confirm that was accross the board .......

To be clear, a Glass television has a Freeview tuner (using an aerial), not a Freesat tuner requiring a compatible LNB. Other models of television may have Freesat onboard, which typically won't work through a Q LNB.

@TimmyBGood Sorry I should have been clearer , I changed it so my replacement TV ( not glass ) could receive the freesat feed properly 👍

@techman9 wrote:@Dazzasky Fantastic! Can't wait. Is burn-in an issue still, thats been playing on my mind ?
Don't worry about burn-in, it was only really a problem on earlier generation OLEDs. All modern ones have built-in panel protection processes which do various different things to refresh pixels, etc. I don't know anyone with an OLED purchased in the past 3 years who has ever had burn-in.

I agree with that. 3 years with a C7 and the last two with a CX and no burn in issues at all.
The one and only precaution I take is to not watch Sky News for hours on end. The breaking news banner is just asking for trouble imho, and definitely caused problems for some on the C7 and earlier. I routinely zoom the banner off screen out of habit now.
Enjoy the TV. You're going to love it.

Well apart from the weird Panther problem which I guess may be my next sky battle, I'm free.
the LG C2 arrived yesterday guys from AO just dumped it even though I asked for a bit of assistance so had to assemble single handed (not recommended).
The difference is like night and day I cam from a old 2012 LED tv before glass so obviously when I got glass I thought wow this is amazing. Using the New TV today I was like OMG glass is really really bad.
The difference is outstanding.
I setup all the apps on WebOS that I had with glass, including now TV which I got on the cheap till october. Even HD material looks better then UHD on glass.
All apps worked flawlessly no crashing and I didn't need to unplug it once!
Happy bunny now, thanks to everyone, now to the refund!!!

As others have said, unless you are a hardcore non-stop gamer or watch rolling news all day, you are unlikely to have a problem and with the extra features on more recent versions, even less chance of a problem even if you are.

That is interesting, have you watched any Sky Sports content yet?
The reason I ask is because even with Boost, the NOW app on an LG TV (any version), does not provide 50fps, which I think is essential for fast moving sports.
If it does become a problem to your eyes, the Amazon Fire TV 4K (MAX if you have WiFi 6), does support probably the smoothest version of the NOW app with 1080p, 50fps on key sports channels and Dolby Digital 5.1.
Enjoy your proper TV 👍🏻

@stereohaven Yeah agree regards now tv, I did the 7 day trial , only took me 1 to realise it's not for me, that's when I sorted the freesat out.
I'd say for "standard" 1080 glass was more than fine, and was actually pretty good. If they can sort out the issues, banding, brightness flicker, local dimming etc, I'd say it'll end up as a good tv opiton.
Things it did well , for me where instantly missed. Sound was great on glass, so had to buy a soundbar as felt was downgrading otherwise, and honestly we miss the UI / eco system of glass. Its great having more control, more apps, more connectivity on the LG, but when it takes me 5 mins to remember what bloody channel that shows on, opening all the apps , it's gonna drive me bonkers, which is why will be getting the steaming puck as soon as available. !

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreYou need to sign up to an app like Just Watch and let that do all the tracking.
It will tell you where your favourite show or movie is available across the streaming services you tell it you have access to.

@stereohaven I'm not a big sports fan so I wouldn't actually be able to check that out.
It's bizarre in a way also as some suppliers graphics are that low res you can notice it on the screen it's like another world.

@stereohaven never heard of that app may have a look.
I have plex (Which I can now use on my tv!) That has a new discover function, that allows you to select your streaming services and it does the same, it's pretty good!
