This is what I see under My Package section on my Sky box:

Shows that I currently have a Sky Q 2TB UHD box and am yet to activate the replacement box which has only just been dispatched.

 

Wondering if anyone with a HDR capable 2TB box can check to see if their box is listed as Sky Q 2TB UHD or something difffernt like Sky Q 2TB UHD HDR as my replacement box is marked as Sky Q 2TB UHD (Awaiting Activation)

No it still just says UHD for the box.

Hi

 

So, Im finally off the phone from Sky. I was told that currently Sky don't have any 2TB UHD HDR Boxes, whether thats true or not. I was then told that Sky currently only had 1TB UHD HDR Boxes, so in the mean time I've opted to have a 1TB UHD HDR Box sent out. Hopefully thats what I receive. Yes I'm having to give up 1TB of storage, but at least its HDR. I was charged £25, which was to be expected.

 

Oddly I was told the Sky Q UHD HDR box would be sent out and I would get it within 3-5 days. Then the old post, I could return either via Royal Mail or Collect+

 

Has anyone had to return a box via either of those means?

Unfortunately the posts made on here after you posted this,  seem to indicate that this is not shared throughout the advisors & systems    - I felt I needed to bring this to your attention

Presumably you have the 32B0XX V1 model.  Come to think of it, I seem to remember prior to origially ordering the HDR update mine also said Sky Q 2TB UHD non-HDR

 

So I assume the back office team has manually set my currently box type to HDR (even tho it isn't) and just ordered a replacement, which if all stars aligned should mean the send out a HDR box as a replacement

Half the problem Is that SKY 'advisors' seem to get confused with UHD & HDR ..THEY ARE NO THE SAME THING.

I spent 45 minutes on the phone and passed to 5 'advisors' only for me to educate the team about the promotion mess up with HDR boxes.. still not received mine.

Scroll down to HELP

Click Sky Q HDR window

 

It's laughable 'it's never been easier to find HDR content...'

 

Hard enough getting the hardware..

 

Sky please call me and sort out my HDR BOX , thanks.

Just a quick update, Ive now got an email from Sky to say that DPD will deliver the box tomorrow. I'll update you guys tomorrow, to let you know if it is indeed a 1TB UHD HDR Box.

@Barry+Mc+Kelvey All 1TB UHD boxes are HDR capable.  The old 1TB non UHD boxes aren't.  I think you should be all good.

 

You could check on your box under My Sky > My Sky Pacakge to see whether it says Sky Q 1TB UHD (Awaiting Actication) or Sky Q 1TB  (Awaiting Actication)

Ive just checked, that section is claiming to have tech issues at the moment, so I'll either check it later or in the morning. Hopefully it states 1TB UHD HDR.

 

I wonder say in 6-8 weeks how easy or difficult it would be to change from a 1TB UHD HDR Box to a 2TB UHD HDR Box.

So I've checked My Sky>My Package, it states, Sky Q 1TB (Awaiting Activation). So does that mean I'm being sent a Non UHD/Non HDR Box, or I am senting sent a HDR Box?

 

According to DPD it should be getting delivered today.

@Barry+Mc+Kelvey you will get the 1tb hdr box.  I got the 1tb hdr box and it shows just as uhd on the waiting activation screen as seen on previous posts.  Once it arrives you can go into settings and check the hardware version.  It should be 32b2xx if hdr.

Im wondering how many people have ordered HDR boxes and are unaware that they are not HDR capable.   The numbers must be in the tens of thousands at least..…..         Also are sky aware of the legal repercussions as people are paying £50 for upgrading to HDR boxes…trading standards etc…

I've tracked the DPD delivery, its left my local depot and is now out for delivery. Hopefully not too much longer. I'll keep you guys posts.

 

I tried to upload a photo of whats displayed on screen, but the image wouldnt display on here 😞

 

Just to re confirm, this is what's displayed, Sky Q 1TB (Awaiting Activation). Are you still sure that it's a Sky Q 1TH UHD HDR Box that I'll be receiving?
