Viewing card no longer active
I recently upgraded to sky Q,all was fine until last Wednesday turned on the tv only to be told viewing card no longer active, i followed all the syeps from the help page but to no avail.when the engineer installed his card because mine hadn't arrived in the post yet.

There engineer used his own card,as mine had not arrived at that stage,mine came inthe post 2 days later.I wonder should i try remove that card and use the new one, although i don't know why the 1st card just stopped working.

You could give it a try. I should imagine the one you were using stopped working as Sky doesn't allow two viewing cards to be active for the same box.
