Unable to remove item from playlist

I've seen it crop up a couple of times - usually adding it and removing it again sorts it - but this one is being stubbon.
With regards to the Play Now rail I've, personally, got less of an issue with stuff automatically adding (as it can be handy to find later if you start watching somehing not on your list) - but I (and judging by the numerous threads on the topic) wish it was more like Netflix, Prime Video, and All4 where you can remove a show from the row - even if you were limited to (say) using Sky Go to do so.
As a point of comparison, the "Continue Watching" feature on Prime Video, Netflix, and All 4 behaves just like the Play Now Rail on Sky Glass in that it automatically adds stuff as watch it - however the core difference is that their apps give you the option to remove the show from it too (and in the case of Prime Video & Netflix they allow you to add to your watchlist too). In fact the Netflix one even integrates with Sky Glass - if I remove a show from the Continue Watching row on the Netflix Android app it then vanishes from the "Continue watching on Netflix" rail within Sky Glass - while still being on "My List" within the Netflix app itself (assuming I've chosen to add it to My List)!
As a company that promotes diversity and inclusion I'm surprised that in developing this functionality on Sky Glass it hasn't been considered that for various reasons a shared playlist across all household members could make programmes visible that some customers may not want their fellow household members to know they are watching for various reasons, while at the same time giving people no way of removing them - e.g. a closeted son or partner who chooses to watch an episode of a gay focused show and then finds they've no way of removing from the list like they can on other platforms, or removing some of the more violent programmes from the home screen in a household with young children. And that's before you consider the day to day usage of guests or just starting a show you end up not liking (or third party apps being a bit buggy / adding from Auto Play as a number of complaints about iPlayer content attest)

As you see in the images below, I have this program called Lingo which I added in error as at the time I had no idea what the Playlist add button on the remote was for. There is NO option at the Playlist stage to add or remove, or even watch this wretched series. The first image shows my Playlist, nothing there to add/remove/watch Lingo. The second image shows the Play Now rail, the only option I have is play. The third image shows my the many episodes I can watch. At no stage can I REMOVE/DELETE this pigging series.

As a test, we've tried adding several series (including Lingo) and haven't had any trouble removing them.
Try these steps;
- Select, 'Playlist View All' to enter the Playlist
- If you select the episode shown in the Play Now rail (see image), you won't be able to remove the series.
- In the 'TV shows' rail select the series you want to watch or remove
- You should see an option to 'remove series'

What is the Play Now rail?
Play now brings together things you have recently added to your Playlist, alongside things you've started to watch - it takes your viewing history into account - so if you have caught up with a show and the next episode becomes available, it will be presented at the beginning of Play now.
If a programme is only available to restart or watch live, this will only be displayed in Play now while it is broadcasting.
How do I remove shows from the Play Now rail?
You can’t manually remove items from the Play Now rail, but these will drop off over time as you watch and add more.
@Mark-Br Once it's cleared from the view all, it will keep adding the next available episode into play now. I think the issue is we would like to be able to easily remove and prevent them keep hitting play now.
One thing Iv noticed is that peacock content just will not leave play now at all, Girls5eva has 8 episodes all are viewed and the last episode is sitting in play now with the blue progress bar showing as completely watched but it's not dropped off.
edit to add - I believe the play now has this limitation by design, and one for the product designers to investigate and make a decision as to whether they want to allow or can allow user management of the play now rail, or whether in doing so it would break the way the play now rail functions.
