but my Xbox upstairs only getting 60mbps just as it was before I went from 60mbps to 400mbps

surely this can't  be right

this is hole point I upgraded because it was always glitchy in game play

surely I don't have to muck around with my router settings ?

@GD1 @grant+wilkes Those particular Powerline adaptors only have 10/100 Ethernet ports on, regardless of supposed speeds it says they're capable of on the box, the limit is about 90ish Mb, even if the chips inside can support higher.

You either need newer power lines with gigabit Ethernet connections, and even those such as AV1200 might struggle to get more than 300 or so M/b depending on your wiring, or you need to find a way of running proper Ethernet cable, which will give you the full throughput.

As for using a Wi-Fi extender, especially on a gaming device, well...the least said the better that is a recipe for lag disaster...🙈

@grant+wilkes  I should also point out that if you have just been connected today then it does take time for Sky to update the profile on FTTP.

@grant+wilkes  When did your FTTP go live?  You won;t be able to check other than by doing speedtest at fast.com

@grant+wilkes  Your image can't be approved as it does holds some personal info.

If you post the make & model of the TP links your using someone will be able to advise if these are gigabit.

Re: Ultrafast

Ah ok sorry

I was advised to buy TP link TLPA401 starter kit AV600 back in 2019 as my Wi-Fi wasn't great upstairs

@grant+wilkes  They are capable of 500mbps so shpuld be an issue.  Can you try a speed test on laptop/pc that is wired to the router?
