UHD free with sky multiroom ?

Just switched from  Sky HD to  Sky Q  with multiroom - new 1TB main box which supports HDR and I have a HDR/ 4K TV .   Subscribed to  full entertainment , HD add ons with Sky Sports , BT Sport and Netflix ultimate add on .

Should I get HDR included free as it doesn't appear that I have ?

You mean UHD? No. You need to take the UHD pack for UHD. And if your box and TV are both HDR compatible then, with the UHD pack, you can watch UHD HDR content where it's available to download or watch.

on the current package structure you need the UHD add on to get UHD. 

When I switched a few years ago (on SKY entertainment) then the 'mulitscreen pack' did enable UHD but that changed a while ago now and is not available for anyone switching - there may still be a few customers that get UHD that way but they will have not changed packages for some time. 

As people take out new packages and migrate to SKY Signature it is actually more obvious & straight forward with the separate UHD add on to enable UHD.

Sometimes. the UHD add on may be free when bundled with other options (which may include Multiscreen) but it does vary depending on other packages and offers at any particular time - but even if bundled for free, it still needs to be added

Thanks for replies   .  As I already pay for HD what is the extra charge for adding UHD ?

If you negotiate, you might get out for free. Don't pay full price of about £6.

I think the current full price for the UHD addon (on top of the HD pack that you have) is £4.

As I say it can be free depending on other bundled packs & contracted term - check online for your upgrades but often best to call and see what they will offer

Thanks .. what is best number to phone ? I've only spoken to retentions before and thought UHD was included in my multiroom package as my son's was when he took out his a few months back

If you have SKY VIP (as many long standing customers do) then probably best to use the number shown in the MY SKY app under the SKY VIP section - even if not the My SKY app may give the best number

Confused with this uhd think. Despite lack of content I was given 3 months free back in Feb 2021 . I already had multiscreen which I took back in sept 20 when offered at 6 pounds . I have the full TV pack Inc box sets ,sport,cinema etc . After hardly watching any uhd content I rung sky to cancel the uhd as didn't want it to start charging me after my 3 months to be told don't worry you are getting it free now with your multiscreen . This was only back in end April 21 so not long ago . Have sky reversed the policy since then ? Reason I ask is my contract finishes in 2 days now and refuse to pay for both HD (it's 2021!!!!!) And uhd with still poor content .

If the baseline subscription is 'Entertainment' or earlier, UHD is unlocked by Multiscreen (not exactly 'free', but included).  With 'Signature', UHD requires a standalone subscription supplement, as does HD (previously bundled with Box Sets).

Just checked my description and says signuture ...doesn't mention entertainment .

Hi    I  have the " signature " pack with multiroom  inc.  Sky Sports and wanted UHD for football etc.  I am a diamond VIP member and phoned them to put my case that I should get UHD for free like it used to be . No problem getting it given for free .  Worth a try !

As I said, UHD wasn't 'free' with Multiscreen (and was never described as such) but was factored into the overall pricing.

As so many people will testify loyality never sways SKY pricing.

What does, is the total package that you take out & renewing fixed term contracts - the more you take out the better the chances that the overall sub will be reduced from 'list' prices.

From time to time they will do offers such as free UHD when you take out Multiscreen but there is no guarantee that the same offer will be available at renewal time but there could well be other offers. 

Although I am no good at negotiating I believe the best offers are made when people say they will cancel unless they get a good deal
