Re: Subtitles on Sky Glass

None of my 'recorded' programs have subtitles. My mum lives with me and needs them.
im very disappointed in glass. I thought it was a tv with sky q built in. I've got no extra room sky, had to order pucks. I'm flipping fed up.

@Cross+customer+ag if you have Sky Talk or Sky miobile dial 150 on either and you will have a free call to Sky otherwise you can find a number starting 03 by following the contact us links if you are persistent. The forum software makes posting numbers difficult but a search on Google will give you one but avoid any call connection services ads who charge to connect your call - all legitimate Sky service numbers start 03.

Re: Subtitles on Sky Glass

  • I have Sky Glass and find the access to subtitles hopeless. I can get subtitles on BBCiPlayer and Netflix, but not usually on ITV Hub, Ch4 and Ch5 on demand and Sky on demand. I added Sky Arts Portrait Artist of the Year to my Playlist and when I play it no subtitles. This has happened with other programmes too. I've tried to watch a film on Sky live today that has subtitles, but they aren't showing. My settings for subtitles are all correct too.  Basically there doesn't seem to be any consistency in the availability of subtitles. I preferred Sky Q.  I do hope Sky can sort this out as I'm stuck with Glass now. Life is frustrating enough when you're profoundly deaf with these problems when you watch TV!

Re: Subtitles on Sky Glass

Bless you that is such a shame perhaps as a gesture of goodwill sky can give you sky Q and a tv until all of the problems are resolved after all they have misrepresented what they said sky glass could do

Re: Subtitles on Sky Glass

I would suggest making contact with the Sky Accessibility service: they have been able to revert subscribers off unsuitable products in the past.

Re: Subtitles on Sky Glass

Thank you for your reply. I actually have the option of sending it back within 30days, however having recently moved house, I'm now all set up for no wires/leads/boxes, which is wonderful and the reason I got Glass in the first place. I've discovered the reason why the film I wanted to watch today had no live subtitles, none of the channels had live subtitles.  I've rectified this by turning the TV off at the wall and on again, as always recommended on The IT Crowd. The sound used to go off completely too and that seems ok now. I went into the Sky shop and they had to show me how to get subtitles on iPlayer as that didn't follow any logical way in the settings area.
