Matchroom's recent announcement with the agreement to move to another subscription company WITHOUT any Pay Per View (PPV) should be a lesson to Sky that regular loyal subscription paying customers have had enough.
What do Sky offer for their latest PPV? A retired ex boxer vs a YouTube "sensation" in an EXHIBITION match.
Shameful.
I hope NOBODY pays for this and Sky take notice.
Losing more games to BT soon, and fair play to BT as Europa League and Champions Leage final all broadcast (free) via the YouTube channel..
Watch out Sky , stand still and you get caught.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreIt is each customer to decide if they want to pay for a pay per view event as you clearly don't then you don't have to as we live in a world where us customers have a choice.

Difficult to see how Sky can be held responsible for the peculiar tastes of those who choose to pay for such things...

For big fights they obviously decide they will make more money from PPV.
As for the football, also pretty sure that the existing contracts have been extended without change. So still the same amount of games for all the TV companies.

Instead of just buying the fights you want you will have to pay whatever sub they charge and get whatever they offer so expect many more B and C class fights not less. Also expect to pay more £££s not less overall.
Think the promotors have seen how the Premier League offer rights who sell bundles that prevent supporters from just buying their team's matches. Sky bid for rights but can only show matches foc if the rights holder permits it. They do offer free acess to occasional matches on Sky 1 but unlike BT Sport they dont have to work quite as hard to get subscribers.
See here for a report that BT maybe trying to get out of broadcasting all together which would be a shame as they do keep Sky relatively honest not sure Amazon or Disney would be better for consumers..
