Especially after the yearly price hike, any chance we can get less football.sky has now lost the pro14 now the New Zealand super rugby, what next the golf and probably even more football

I Emailed SANZAAR about this, I thought, you never know! I got the following back :-
Apologies but the ongoing effects of COVID-19 have had a drastic impact on the sporting landscape, not just on tournament formats and match operations but in the commercial landscape as well. Sporting federations ability to negotiate new commercial deals in areas such as sponsorship and television broadcasting has been severely compromised in the market due to reduced budgets, a decrease in business confidence, less available product and the ongoing uncertainty created by the pandemic.
At present we are still negotiating and looking for solutions to have all Super Rugby broadcast in UK. Hopefully we will have some news in the near future. However Rugby Pass is now showing Super Rugby Aotearoa

I got the exact same answer. There will (hopefully) never be another time when the Broadcasters have such a captive audience as these times have produced and according to the answer they are not taking advantage.
Years of profits have gone in football, slaries and dividends..

I think your right graceland22 Sky's main circus is the Premier League and F1. They have less than half the football having lost out to BT and know Amazon are getting in on the game. F1 is massively over priced. They should be reducing some of the presenters they have and reduce the cost. Don't think there really interested in Rugby they'll go for the lions tour as they hope to boost subscriptions but there coverage is great and frightening biased. You get the tries of the Super Rugby games on YouTube it's only five or six minutes but it something

This is the best free alternative thatI have found to watch highlights. If it wasn't for the SuperLeague starting up I would be ditching the whole of my SKY package and going with one of these: RugbyPass or Stan.
Problem is, my wife thinks that my SKY package/ Sky Sports/ BT Sports & broadband are already enough to be coughing up!

StanTV Update: I've given up on it.
Unfortunately it is pretty robust in requiring a VPN with location set to Australia to view, and unfortunately mine isn't fast enough to be able to stream it in HD. I only watch the NZ games though, so cancelled my trial with StanTV and have bought rugbypass for Super Rugby Aotearoa - no VPN required so instantly better 1080p quality.
So at the moment I'm paying £20/mnth for my broadband from Vodafone and a £35 one off payment for the rugby I watch vs the £83/month that I had to try and haggle with Sky for as a "loyal customer" of over 10 years, and the only thing I'm missing is live the F1.
I can live with that - by Sky, I will see you again if/when the price matches what's on offer!

Very disappointing to learn that Sky has lost Southern Hemisphere rugby coverage. Southern Hemisphere rugby is far superior to what we get in Britain. I will have to seriously consider whether paying for Sky Sports is worth it. In my package I am paying for soccer which I never watch. A switch to another provider is looking likely.

I will also be cancelling Sky Sports upon hearing this news. Unfortunately, I'm in contract until May/June, but will drop Sky after this. Southern Hemisphere rugby was the only thing that kept me subscribed, so now Sky no longer have it, they will lose me - have been a Sky subscriber for many many years.
Incredible, all the dedicated sports channels for Golf, Darts, Cricket, and the main channels seem to specialise in bloody American Football, and yet no place for the best rugby on the planet. Ah, well, maybe I'll stick it out until the Lions tour then save myself a heap of cash.

If people are missing rugby why not give the American rugby league a go. Games are going to be steamed live and on demand on www.therugbynetwork.com. I took the plunge and paid the £34.99 to RugbyPass & subscribed to Stan tv to get the Australian super rugby & all the rugby add ons like rugby championship, ITM cup, Currie cup, Australian domestic championship, so I won't be going back to sky after 30+ years, and they weren't bothered.

As usual sky have decided to not aire all nrl matches as a rugby leauge fan I'm thinking about canceling my subscription because it is alway the nrl and super leauge what gets cut or you mess about with you put base ball and American football and all other crap sport but never cancel these so I hope all nrl and leauge fans boycott sky iknow they won't and you know they won't that's why you always do this to our sport so to sky sports until you do right by the nrl and super leauge I will have to think hard about my subscription

Look Guys,
I am still gutted since I raised this post. They got me to sign a new contract, then the next week I find out they have decided Rugby (Real rugby, not League) is not for them and then they have the cheek to up the price.
Well, I think they believe they have the solution. I think they are wrong but maybe you all can voice your opinions. SKY believe that showing Netball nearly every day will keep us happy!!!! Boy have they got it wrong!

My discounted sky sports expires in August and after over 30 years with them I'll be turning my back on them as I'm now in streaming mode to watch the super rugby, Japanese & US rugby which sky forces me into investigating

I've been picking up Super Rugby via YouTube. Sky will be hanging on for the Lions tour then they'll be back offering all sorts of deals if you subscribe. And they'll be offering there 'expertise' on all things rugby from other parts of the world which they won't have and bearing in mind BT show all the Heineken premiership games with highlights on Channel 5 with the excellent David Flatman. Sky could be yesterday's pay per view provider?
05 May 2021 01:46 PM
I have paid £10 per month additional onto my sky subscription for Premier Sports so I can watch the rainbow cup. Glad I did but gutted at having to pay even more and still no Aus/Nz. Some really, really good games!!
Watcha gonna do!?
Netball FTW?!?! 😂

"Action" channel is now NFL Channel. Arena Channel is mainly Darts, or yes, we non-football fans can watch Netball. I think SKy are in breach of contract, cos this is definitely not what I signed up for.
Luckily Sky are the only company that gave us a payment break during the lockdown of 2020, so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt until the Lions tour.
