SkyQ Download Failed Item Unavailable

I just checked again, for some reason the DNS change had reverted to the original settings. I just changed it to Cloudflare again (1.1.1.1). I switched off and on at the wall, made sure the Cloudflare setting was still in place, lo and behold, downloads now working. No idea why BT's DNS is the cause of the issue , but I've just downloaded 3 different programs from Sky Atlantic, which all previously failed.

I have the same issue, sky content won't download. Issue also seems to drop my internet connection. I reconnect to my router through the sky box, connects ok, sky box shows me their online content and programmes available and allows me to download BBC content and then 2 mins later it tells me it's dropped the network connection again and says I'm not connected. Anyone else have this router/internet connection drop-out issue??

@berniejn Is the Router yours or provided by your Broadband supplier?

Are you invalidating your Support by performing modifications to the Router?

Have you checked that everything else works fine after the modifications that 'may' be a permanent fix for the current issue?

Setting the secondary DNS to Sky seems to be the only new bit of information here, everything else you have mentioned has either fixed temporarily or not at all.

Personally im not going to fiddle with the Broadband Router as 99% of my environment works perfectly. 🙂

@Essexgolf Try direct connecting your Sky box to your Broadband Router if you can, either with a direct cable or via Powerline plugs, as i am direct connected and don't lose network connectivity.

Not possible unfortunately. It's worked for 6yrs, it's surely not too much to expect Sky to fix it without me having to remodel my home 😳

I am still having problems downloading and now today my sky Q box keeps disconnecting itself from my bt router.

I have tried the 8888 and 1111 that people on here have suggested it will work for little bit then it stops working. Tried turning off and on. Updating software.

I was able to download 3 episodes of landscapers on 8888 then stopped working so now I can't download the 4th now.

I had this issue for 2 weeks now with downloading and now the disconnecting from router problem.

So bloody annoying now, I have lost count how many times me and my daughter has had to reconnect the sky box to the internet today. It's keeps saying I have no internet connection

Yep, same here. I'm going to give it a week for them to fix their software issues and if they can't, cancel the lot. I'm not paying for a service they can't provide.

I am not that technical so I have left all these DNS setting alone. It did work OK for many years on SkyQ set up so why does it not work now. Somebody, somewhere, has made some changes that have caused these corruptions. In the past I have been told by those in the know about computers is that is if I corrupt anything on my computer by doing something stupid, to reset it to a previous version that was not known to be corrupt. So why cannot Sky revert back to a previous known fault-free version on their system? 

Apparently many of the installers/engineers or what ever they call themselves and/or their help desk staff are not even aware of this issue. What sort of outfit is Sky now, it just gets worse,

I'm also having the same trouble with downloads - it's driving me to distraction!! Have Sky acknowledged anything as yet?

Seems like the only solution that 100% works is to boot Sky in the Knackers and move to BTTV or Virgin

They have to me in a phone call, they say it is an advert thing on old programmes, adverts come via a different server. The 8.8.8.8. fix has worked so far for one day

I would love to get rid of sky, had so many problems. I used to have their broadband but signal was so bad I had no choice but to change to bt but I can't get virgin in my area tho and I do like the sky tv just not the issues that come with it.

so have to stick with sky till virgin decide to come to my area
