Re: SkyQ Download Failed Item Unavailable
@GazBags I'd agree, if it weren't for terrestial channels also being affected, for me and other posters here.
My money is on some odd incompatibility issue between Sky and whichever bb provider's products' architecture. You're right, it isn't restricted to only BT. Something else is going on here.

I'm hoping they'll compensate the ham salad out of us customers.

Re: SkyQ Download Failed Item Unavailable
Just had a reply off sky saying there is a known issue and their team are fixing it as a priority. But no timescales

Re: SkyQ Download Failed Item Unavailable
Hi, just had a call from someone in the Sky Q Technical Team
I explained what the problem was and he suggested a re-boot. Press 0001 on remote, system closes down, turn back on and run system reload, re-configure remote, checked settings, everything ticked, checked sofware version etc
I said I was not surprised as I am on Sky Community and there are 30plus pages of emails and there must be hundreds of people with the same problem. He claimed not to know that and put me on hold while he spoke to a supervisor
He came back and said that he was glad I had told him this because he did not previously know that
Now he is aware of this he said he can advise people differently
I was told that there is a known issue, the tech guys are working on it, no timescale for resolution
It is not a BT thing, various broadband suppliers have same issue
( I said I could not download from ITVhub onto SkyQ, but could to my p.c)
Can try some temporary fixes he said, like enter 8.8.8.8, but I said no, I will wait until a company wide fix is done
He said it should not be too long, thank you for talking to me, bye for now
Trevor
Just had feedback survey to recent call email through, so I will let rip !!

Re: SkyQ Download Failed Item Unavailable
@TrevA It never fails to amaze me that comms invariably fail so dismally in the majority of companies, when they really should have systems in place so they can always be aware of this sort of crisis if confidence in their money-making customer base.

Re: SkyQ Download Failed Item Unavailable
@Brian+McM The Sky engineers, both of them, told me it was a recognised issue at Sky, and that "everyone" had a received a letter about it so that they'd all be aware.
Fat chance!

Re: SkyQ Download Failed Item Unavailable
I might have the answer.
I cleared up my memory and stuff I'd got stored and it then started downloading, I'd got 90% of memory storage used, so I got rid of stuff I don't watch and it got me down to 69% and now I'm downloading again.

Re: SkyQ Download Failed Item Unavailable
I just tried clearing a little more memory, from 44% used, cleared 2% more. Still got the same issue. It's seems to be since Sky changed the layout (again) on recording, so annoying. And where are Sky on this thread? Why has nobody answered all these same queries?

Re: SkyQ Download Failed Item Unavailable
1) thank da lord for this thread.
2) just think of all those Sky customers pulling their hair out and not seeing this thread. They will be trying everything related to their own network equipment to solve it, with zero success. They will be phoning Sky and jumping through the usual hoops. Awful.
@jdsuede- if it's permanently fixed something for you then you don't have the same issue as is. Or, what you've done is triggered a temporary fix and your downloads will start playing up again. Or it's just a massive coincidence.
