@motomike @You have to scroll down, there is another line below Router entitled DNS server, type the DNS IP address into the 4 box, remembering to confirm the change.
I've found that the complete power off of the box isn't necessary.

This answer was posted a month ago, I'm still having this problem with my sky box. Is there a way to resolve this issue yet?

I still can't download on my Sky+ HD box.
I know there is a seperate thread for that, but nothing has been posted for ages.....................

Hi all. Had the engineer out as the whole thing stopped working with my fibre.( the connection is less than a foot away)
He has hard wired it in. It's not causing any more problems, touch wood
He wasn't impressed with the problem,and cursed a bit when I told him about the download issues,so they are aware. About time they fixed it eh.

OK, so I've done the DNS thing this morning by using a code that @SecretBob used on page 65 and it seems to be working. I have been able to start downloading Ocean Wreck Investigation but one thing I've noticed is it doesn't seem to be queuing other episodes that I click on as well. Still, even one episode at a time is progress I suppose but it's about time Sky sorted it out as it's gone on for way too long now!

I have tried from the app to download and it still fails. Come on SKY fix the issue , I am not paying all this money for a service that doesn't work.

I too am still unable to download anything on my Sky Q during the day. The only way I was able was to sit up late into the evening/next morning, when I assume there is less demand for the download service, and manually download each episode of the programm I wanted. This wasnt foolproof though and I did get plenty of "Download Failed" messages. I often had to try several times and and it took several hours.
It is definitely time to contact Sky and demand money off a supscription serve we cant use properly.
I am reluctant to reset the entire thing back to factory settings as I have seen in other posts that this also doesn't seem to solve the problem.'
Funny how this seemed to coincide with the introduction of SKY GLASS but maybe I'm just being cynical (but I doubt it)
COME ON SKY. GET THIS SORTED AND GET BACK THE SERVICE WE ARE PAYING FOR!!

Just for the Sky records - having the same issues doesn't matter if I use SD.
fed up with both this and my box turning on ad hoc at midnight. Temporary solution to tgat but it's inconvenient and I will be asking for credits on my account -
perhaps the more people posting the problem will get faster work and recompense.

I doubt it will solve your problem. I have Sky Q and cant download on demand at all. Its a SKY issue that they have to fix

I have just had an update from Sky
They mentioned as it's a free service, they won't give refund or discounts. Not very impressed. Come on Sky, you can do better than this

This is surely a mute point?
Who actually uses the service in real time - isn't the point that it is available (or not ...so it seems) on demand!!
@Sky Uk seriously need to get their game face off and the customer service one on.
They are not the only show in town and frankly this constitutes a breach in service.

I am having the same problems with downloads failing ... I am with ee broadband... does anyone know if this problem occurs for those who have sky broadband?
