Thanks I didn't know that as when I spoke to Sky they asked who supplied my boradband and said that sky broadband didn't have these issues...... but if sky broadband is also having problems this suggests it's a far bigger problem which requires serious attention from Sky.

Surely Sky need to make a statement and admit there is a system error? We've been struggling with this inconsistency of service for two months and had no awareness that it was known about and that Sky employees were struggling with it (engineers, moderators of the forum and no doubt customer service). Agree that compensation would only be fair.

The temporary solution suggested of downloading via the SkyGo app has not worked for us. It is very disappointing and frustrating that the issue has not yet been resolved. I am also unimpressed that Sky has not informed its customers of this possible issue with downloading!

I had an son engineer put in this 1.1.1.1 8.8.8.8 codes in they didn't work but instead it stopped my box from recording as well as downloading. Got another engineer out and he said they shouldn't be putting these codes in as they cause other issues to the sky Q boxes. He couldn't sort my recording's pun on my box so replaced it. Still have problems with downloads but at least can record again

I had changed my DNS to 8.8.8.8 two weeks ago on Sky advice and have had 100% success rate, a couple of downloads took a couple of attempts but did come down, just did two movies.
I am on BT, skyQ and two mini boxes.
(I only changed the DNS on the main box, just downloaded via a mini).

Having the same problem all over Christmas, I've only tried downloading movies from the start that have already began and it always comes up with the same message "download failed". I deleted a load of old downloads in case I was getting short of space but that had no effect.

Unable to download from on demand either. Can't do this from the sky box or the app. So frustrating, paying for a service and unable to make the most of it. When speaking to Sky and asking if we would be refunded for this inconvenience, I was told no. This needs sorting out.

I've had the same issues but recordings, playback etc was also wrecked, had to reset the harddrive to fix it. That's twice this year this has happened.

Having same 'download failed' issue. It's ok it choose SD under 'Other Formats'. Still a pain as pay for HD.
