Haven't been unable to download for about 4;weeks now had a sky engineer out who changed my settings then my sky Q box wouldn't record either. Managed to get another engineer round who said he shouldn't have changed the settings. Got him to change my box so I could record again which it does. This downloading through Sky Go App doesn't work either. Shouldn't have to pay a penny this month as they haven't provided the service I pay a fortune for

@mike1944 Sky are obviously never going to admit a figure and not everybody complains (or can't because they can't get thru to support) and not everybody will be on this discussion.
Maybe we all need to register an event on Downdetector, as this is independent?

Having the same issue.
28 Dec 2021 02:24 PM
Yep, same problem... can this get solved please?
28 Dec 2021 02:50 PM
I am afraid this IS NOT SOLVED. The workaround suggested is to down load to the sky box via the Sky Go app, when I try to do this I still get a failed message!
so many things we tried in vain to download over Christmas with family stayi g for it to fail....wait...delete failed item then try again in SD or HD.
get a grip with your technology and send through corrective patches to the boxes. I was considering moving broadband to you but this for a service we pay the best part of £100 a month for is beyond the pale!!

I will have to add the internet connection dropping out to this. I had this problem a few months ago but stopped when the downloads stopped working but it has reared its ugly head again. Was told originally it was the router but as every other appliance in the house that needs the internet had no problem I didn't believe it.
if this carries on the minute virgin media are in my area I'm switching

Having had a sky engineer visit today to rectify the issue I was dissapointed when he said that there is nothing he could do. He said it would be a waiting game until sky could issue a software fix.
Totally unaccepatable so I did a bit of research and then changed my DNS on my sky Q box to 1.1.1.1 and now all downloads seem to be fine. Why can't sky just tell us this themselves?

HI
So I've had this problem a few months and I had an engineer out a few weeks back. My main sky Q box was replaced and everything seemed ok again up until yesterday. Yes I lost all my original recordings due to change of box and downloading is now a lot slower than it was previously and now it has completely stopped working again. The worst time of this to happen, everything I view practically is on download.
I was assured when the engineer came round that the software issue was on the verge of being fixed!

Yes there is a lot of us in the same position - see my screen shot of one of the most helpful replies - I haven't tried yet but will be

Mine started to fail after Sky replaced my Sky Q box for another issue, prior to that had no issues with downloads 🙁

Apparently and as a complete lay person (and taking this under advisement lol) the issue isnt with the boxes Sky+ or Q it's to do with SKY and 3rd party broadband providers. But as we all pay SKY for their packages / service /features then SKY are responsible for fixing the problem or they will loose their customers. On one of comments someone posted they this issue all started when Sky introduced a new feature (sorry can't remember what the SKy feature was called) and clearly the demand for downloads across all channels would seem to great for the SKY network to cope with.

We get this endlessly, it's so frustrating, 49mins into "landscapers" after trying to download many different times and it just goes bad and that's it. So even sky's own content fails.

@RHC its not just third party broadband providers this also affects customers who have Sky as their ISP as well

It seems we are not alone with this issue. And it seems to have been going on for a while! It is beynd frustrating, we pay a lot per month for Sky and cant access what we are paying for.
