@SecretBob wrote:I am a BT broadband user (fttp) with my SKYQ box hard wired to the hub on CAT6 cable, so full 150MB to the SKY box. I changed to a specific BT DNS server, and that has been working fine this morning. I've just downloaded another episode of Succession to confirm.
I think the issue may be linked to DNS forwarding if the hub IP is configured instead of a specific DNS server IP.
@SecretBob That is goiod news so far. Please keep us updated to how well your downloads are working. Would you please try downloading UHD/HDR movies and other Sky content at different times please? Also, can you please post what DNS you are using with your SKy box so others can give it a try?
Maybe it is something as simple as the Sky box and BT hub not properly talking to each other.

I don't seem to be able to provide a link to my post, but I've detailed the DNS IP in my post on page 62, along with a link to a large list of DNS server 😇

That's the impression I got from the engineer

@SecretBob @LGUser I hate to burst the bubble, but I've just tried setting the BT primary and secondary DNS in my Sky Q network settings and hard power cycling after each change and then checking to make sure its still set after power up, but neither worked, but setting to 8.8.8.8 currently does.
I'm only BT FTTC, but im cable connected from the Sky Q to the BT Smart Hub 2, I don't get any of the network disconnects that others seem to do, and i assume they are connecting over Wi-Fi?

Can we withold payment of our monthly fees if this is not fixed?

Just spoke to an installation engineer and he said" it's a known fault at sky with 3rd party broadband providers, : I'm with ee. Sky are working on a fix.

What two IP's did you try? As I mentioned earlier, the primary/ secondary IP's listed in my BT hub config (81.139.57.100 / 81.139.56.100) are not listed in the BT DNS server list in the link I provided on page 62. I used the first DNS IP from that link, and it is still working fine.

We switched to Sky Q last week and were told then that Sky were working on a solution, how long does it take?

If you do that, Sky will stop your service until you pay what you owe.

Wouldn't hurt to have a discussion about it

@IMHO Since SKY Support is so slow and rubbish and they cant fix this issue, for the last few weeks, I have been using Netflix and Amazon Prime for content to watch - its so much better than SKY TV and you dont have to pay a premium price for content or HD - I think SKY will only react to the sound of feet walking awayt from them!

@SecretBob - thanks for the tip - unfortunately it doesn't work for me, get message "Failed, item unavailable"

You do have to pay extra to get Netflix in HD and even more for UHD.
£5.99 - SD / 1 screen
£9.99 HD / 2 screens
£13.99 UHD / 4 screens

@SecretBob I used the 2 you have mentioned below directly from the Admin GUI on the Router, but I'll take a look at your link when i get a chance and see if that works for me.

@LGUser Unfortunately this is true, and the thing that makes it worse from my perspective is that im on a deal with Sky at the moment to get the UHD level for £5.99, so good from that perspective, but bad because im locked in even more. ☹️
