Superusers are not Sky staff, all it really means is that we have posted a lot.

Thanks for the clarification.

I just spoke with an advisor who told me that I am the only having this issue, and that I need to buy a new Sky box to fix it.

@Mike54 -  strange! @skyhelpteam on twitter say "we are still working to resolve this issue and as soon as we have a solution, an update will be provided" - search "sky q download failed" on twitter for more

Re: SkyQ Download Failed Item Unavailable

Strangely, I was able to download 3 UHD shows late last night and one HD just now.

the only thing that's changed that I'm aware of, is the Home Screen on Sky is now red rather than blue. Not sure if the software version has changed.

The red home screen is (I think) because of advertising that Christmas movie. I have it as well.

Now unable to access Sky Store content says they're working to fix it. Assume all linked to the same problem

@LGUser The 17 version of the Q180 software appears to be for the gen 1 2TB Sky Q box, according to their website.

Re: SkyQ Download Failed Item Unavailable

I'm adamant that the issue is server and network overload at the Sky end of the service as I'm able to download if I persever and give it several attempts.

Re: SkyQ Download Failed Item Unavailable

Be good if Sky could actually make an official statement about this. If one consider that the posts on this forum are just a fraction of the number of customers involved. Perhaps it is just too much of an embarrassment for them to admit it officially. Apparently from some posts on here their help desk are not even aware of this fault.

Thanks. I thought the 16 version of Q180 was to fix the v1 boxes. I do think that Sky should retire all of the 1TB and non-HDR boxes.

Re: SkyQ Download Failed Item Unavailable

@LGUser I agree, but I'm slightly biased as I have the original 2TB box, and I would expect the upgrade for free as the box remains the property of Sky, unlike the Sky+HD boxes, which belong to the customer.

Re: SkyQ Download Failed Item Unavailable

We're having the same issue, this must be a software/no being on Sky broadband issue. It would be interesting to hear if anyone is having this same issue who are on Sky broadband. We are on EE (BT) and it has started happening to us sine late November. I have tried Google's and SKY's DNS in the router without luck (so it is not DNS related). Come on Sky sort your software out!!

I'm with O2 with a TP-Link 4G router until we get the fibre infrastructure installed here. I'm not having trouble downloading.  Though sometimes it can take a while for UHD content to allow me to watch it. I;ve had as much as having to download about 35% before I could watch it.
