@Goooner1 you've got lucky then, tried that too and also doesn't work.

Momentarily lucky, just tried to download another episode and it has failed.

Re: SkyQ Download Failed Item Unavailable

I know same issue here, still not fixed, voice control button now doesn't work either. Bring told on demand is free so no compensation for a shockingly bad service we pay good money for. On hold now about to give them my thoughts if they don't rectify this ASAP. I am actually considering cancelling my contract and getting free view with a recordable box. Which would cost me nothing for the equivalent service I am currently getting from sky.

Re: SkyQ Download Failed Item Unavailable

I did suggest that someone from sky come on here & see how many people are experiencing the same problem.

Re: SkyQ Download Failed Item Unavailable

EE is just a rebranded BT service, even the hubs are the same as BT recently grout EE, makes sense that both experience the same issues.

Re: SkyQ Download Failed Item Unavailable

Same problem for me as a BT broadband user. Could not get anything on demand or catch up to download irrespective of channel!

so after 90 mins of challenge on the phone this evening they have also recognised that this is a known sky issue.  They  tried the following:

- requesting a callback via the viewing card was told this takes up to 24 hours and may or may not resolve the problem. If I  go to the supermarket tomorrow wonder if it may or may not open!!!

- reinstalling the software update which is up to date and the version did not change.

The result - Managed one episode downloaded after this then problem reappeared.

Changed again the dns to 1.1.1.1 and downloads have started again

Will see what happens with my current queue.

@deejay55 Yes, you can, that's what I'm using right now.

Below the B, I, U at the top of the message toolbar, there are 3 horizontal dots. Click those, and the toolbar expands to show the " marks on the top row. Just click the " and it puts the entire post(s)  you're replying to in the message box.

But I wouldn't have known that without @Doc5907 😉

@LGUser "I don't know what the problem is, but it affecting mostly BT users. Can anyone explain why that is if it's a Sky problem?"

Because more ppl are with BT as their ISP than any other company in the UK. It's a simple numbers game.

Added to which, there are posts on this thread from Sky customers who are with other ISPs and are also experiencing the very same issue. It is NOT confined to BT bb users.

@Discombobulated3  a bit of advise, I notice you replying to quite a few previous posts and it can be slightly confusing which post you are replying to. This is where quoting a post comes in handy. To do this:

  1. Go to post you want to reply to and click reply arrow next to like button.
  2. Just above text box, click on 3 horizontal dots top right which expands toolbar.
  3. Click on Quotation symbol which brings up person's post.
  4. Scroll down and reply. Use @ (their name) to ensure they are notified of your reply.

@Doc5907 - very helpful post! Works great on PC, can't seem to expand toolabr on iPad.

@Georgette73 so apparently they are lying to us now about this workaround solving the issue for all affected customers and claiming it's only BT broadband customers........

And apparently this workaround has been successful for ALL of the "small number" of customers this has affected! 😧🥴😵💫

@deejay55 Yes I've heard it can cause issues on smaller devices. Have you tried changing from portrait to landscape or vice versa as I heard sometimes that works. (I only ever use a PC so I wouldn't know)

That could be it - I'm pretty much always in landscape on the iPad, phone, etc. Works fine then, @deejay55

Re: SkyQ Download Failed Item Unavailable

Turn the Q box upside down and count to 50 in your underpants. Works 95 % of the time 5 % of the time

Re: SkyQ Download Failed Item Unavailable

One week of frustration! I have been a week of failed downloads. Why do they say it's a free service to have on demand? I pay for sky cinema!! Apparently I can record films so it's not an issue! Yes it is because I was attracted to on demand!

why isn't this fixed?
