 After speaking to someone today, I have just had it confirmed from Sky that IT IS A SKY ISSUE - Not BT

 

It is their Server.

 

I am now waiting on another call back from one of the Managers of Sky to try and let me know what my alternatives are, having failed with the 8888 and 1111 temporary workaround.

I am beyond livid at this point it has been a month! and yesterday a series came out that I have been waiting  ages for and guess what? I was unable to download it! so thank you very much sky for not allowing me to watch the new series of Sex and the City. The amount of times I've had to rewrite this to take out my cursing! So very very VERY annoyed.

So I've done all your recommendations -thanks all- none have worked and I've done software check and reset box. Still nothing. It's only sky downloads the issue is with. So currently on hold with sky. 
sky go app works fine so I know not my broadband. But I have lost ability to download to sky box. I'll update if I get anything useful and I will be asking about compensation.

Update: sky are aware the issue is there side and they are working to resolve. 
move requested updates on progress and when they have a resolution date. I have also requested compensation. I wouldn't normally but figured if it starts costing money then they may fix it quicker. 
I was told that it's a priority. 
m they did suggest the 1111 and 8888 and I explained tried and also that it's just sky programs the issue is with I can download itv programmes. So it's there server issue. Plus my iPad works fine on my broadband. Good luck all and I'll update when I get one.

Sky has admitted it is their server that does not allow successful downloads to Sky customers regarding Sky programmes.  I am waiting on a call from Sky Manager this afternoon.......... watch this space.  It would make such a difference to everyone on this Forum if they went on here and admitted that this is their issue and no one else.

..just had new box installed and download problem persists. Probably not surprising if Sky has admitted this is a server issue..

Because more ppl are with BT as their ISP than any other company in the UK. It's a simple numbers game. 

Added to which, there are posts on this thread from Sky customers who are with other ISPs and are also experiencing the very same issue. It is NOT confined to BT bb users. 


@Discombobulated3  a bit of advise, I notice you replying to quite a few previous posts and it can be slightly confusing which post you are replying to. This is where quoting a post comes in handy. To do this:

 

  1. Go to post you want to reply to and click reply arrow next to like button.
  2. Just above text box, click on 3 horizontal dots top right which expands toolbar.
  3. Click on Quotation symbol which brings up person's post.
  4. Scroll down and reply. Use @ (their name) to ensure they are notified of your reply.

@Doc5907 - very helpful post! Works great on PC, can't seem to expand toolabr on iPad.

I have tried changing DNS settings and still channel 4 along with others fail.  Any other suggestions, I am in BT and have even tried using my phone as a Wi-Fi hotspot on 4g
